Lincoln Highway Dedicated
The brainchild of Carl Fisher, a coast-to-coast highway was suggested to connect New York and California. To generate mass approval for the project, it was named Lincoln Highway in honor of Abraham Lincoln. A nation-wide dedication was held on October 31, 1913, to kick off the building of this first-of-a-kind highway.
