A Waynesville R-VI School bus, carrying elementary students, slid off the road on Teardrop Road near Devils Elbow at about 8 a.m. this morning.
A school bus slid off a road in the Devils Elbow area and collided with a tree Tuesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).
A statement issued by the Waynesville R-VI School District said the bus that slid off Tear Drop Lane in Devils Elbow was carrying 20 elementary school students who attend East or Freedom Elementary schools.
Chief Doug Yurecko of Waynesville Rural Fire Department, who was on-scene roughly six minutes after a notification was made, said there were no reported injuries.
“Everyone [on scene] was evaluated by EMS [Emergency Medical Services] personnel and there were no reported injuries,” Yurecko said.
MSHP and Waynesville R-VI School District also confirmed there were no injuries reported.
Yurecko said the bus driver had the children exit the bus and took them to a dry place.
According to a statement issued by the Waynesville R-VI School District, parents of students who ride the Route 63B bus were notified this morning about the accident.
After the children were screened by paramedics, the children were transported to their school or released to their parents.
As a further follow-up, the school district said the children were to be checked by school nurses once they arrived at the school. Wet weather conditions likely contribute to accident, according to the statement from the school district.
