  • WHS PIE partners receive plaque for efforts

  • Soldiers of the 193rd Brigade Support Battalion from the 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, volunteer regularly at Waynesville High School and at athletic events. Their volunteer efforts – led and coordinated by Lt. Col. Jeff Britton and his wife, Mary Britton – were recognized during the final regular-season varsity football game by the Waynesville Athletic Booster Club.

  •  Soldiers of the 193rd Brigade Support Battalion from the 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, volunteer regularly at Waynesville High School and at athletic events. Their volunteer efforts – led and coordinated by Lt. Col. Jeff Britton and his wife, Mary Britton  –  were recognized during the final regular-season varsity football game by the Waynesville Athletic Booster Club. 
        During the 2012-13 School Year, these soldiers logged 835 hours volunteering; so far this year, they have logged an additional 333 hours for a total of 1,168 volunteer hours. 
        These soldiers have helped with the Tiger Tunnel at football games and various other sport senior nights, the 2012 Homecoming parade, decorating for the JROTC Ball, volunteering for the Route 66 Basketball Tournament, and serving as guest speakers at JROTC and for Patriot Day in the classrooms. Nearly 60 soldiers have volunteered two or more times. 
        Last year, the soldiers donated blood during the Student Government Association’s blood drive, helping Waynesville High School win a competition and receive a grant for SGA activities.
