  • The Waynesville High School wrestling team officially opened its schedule by sending its junior varsity team on the road to meet, and defeat, the St. James varsity squad 62-10 on Monday, Nov. 25.

  • The Waynesville High School wrestling team officially opened its schedule by sending its junior varsity team on the road to meet, and defeat, the St. James varsity squad 62-10 on Monday, Nov. 25.
    The highlight for the Tiger jayvee squad senior Zachary Martinez defeated St. James state-placer Daniel McCarthy in a 9-8 decision that came down to the final seconds of the match.
    In a battle of state powers of last season, Waynesville will take on Ozark in its first home dual meet of the year in varsity/jayvee action on Thursday, Dec. 5, starting at 6 p.m. at the WHS gym. Last season Waynesville finished sixth and Ozark eighth in the Missouri Class 4 State Tournament.

    106: Evan McWilliams won by forfeit.
    113: Nathaniel Perez won by forfeit.
    120: Anthony Johnson pinned Matthew Latham in 1:12.
    126: Julian Burnham beat Sean Hunter, 2-0.
    132: Peter Lucitt won by major decision over Sam Bunyard, 11-0.
    138: Zachary Martinez beat Daniel McCarthy, 9-8.
    145: Elijah Blashford lost by major decision to Daniel Davis, 12-4.
    152: Derrick Sax pinned Seth Thompson in 5:02.
    160: Colby Carmack was pinned by Taylor Busche in :45.
    170: Jason Duncan won by major decision over Beau Campbell, 15-3.
    182: Anthony Mayparedes won by forfeit.
    195: Brandon Fancher pinned Logan Bullock in 1:19.
    220: Griffin Ketcham pinned Logan Disser in 1:16.
    Heavyweight: Tylor Gross won by forfeit.
