  • Falling into the consolation bracket, the Dixon High School girls’ basketball team fell to host Lebanon 63-61 Saturday in the first round of the Lebanon Holiday Tournament.

  • Falling into the consolation bracket, the Dixon High School girls’ basketball team fell to host Lebanon 63-61 Saturday in the first round of the Lebanon Holiday Tournament.
    Dixon, now 2-4, is scheduled to play at 10 a.m. today against either Eugene or Conway.
    Lebanon took a 16-12 lead after the first period and clung to a 28-27 halftime edge. Each team scored 18 points in the third quarter.
    Senior guard Mattie Whitaker and junior guard Kelsey Ray each had 20 points to pace the Dixon Lady Bulldogs.
    Mikalayla Callahan and Kelsey Winfrey each had 14 points and Maggie Vaughn 13 for Lebanon, now 1-2.
    Also in the first round Crocker knocked off third-seeded Ava. Crocker will play Lebanon at 1 p.m. today.

    Dixon (61): Whitaker 20, Ray 20, Shanahan 9, Gilbert 6, Yoakum 4, Rickerson 2.
    Lebanon (63): Callahan 14, Winfrey 14, Vaughn 13, Alwardt 8, Windhalm 5, Light 4, Hudson 4, Peace 1.
