  • An incident Friday about a mile outside of St. Robert involving an armed suspect allegedly making threats ended peacefully, according to Pulaski County Sheriff Ron Long.
"That situation could have been a really bad deal," Long said. "We're glad it was resolved as quickly as it was."
Friday, at about 7:50 a.m., Long said the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department responded to reports that an individual who had barricaded himself in a residence was threatening to shoot himself and others.
There were two small children and a teenager inside of the home.
Long said his deputies were able to convince the gunman to surrender and give up his weapon within about three hours of their arrival.
The children were not hurt during the incident. The two small children were taken into the custody of the Children's Division of the Missouri Department of Social Services.
The teenager was released to a family member, according to Long.
Long said criminal charges have not been filed at this time since the suspect is being evaluated at a local hospital.
More details will be released at a later time, Long said.
