A month after it was originally scheduled, the Frisco League Basketball Tournament FINALLY ended on Saturday. The boys’ and girls’ brackets of the tournament were postponed several times due to the weather. The final four make-up games were played on Saturday.

In those games Plato topped Richland 46-31 in the boys’ consolation final, Crocker got past Newburg 59-47 in the girls’ consolation final, Newburg defeated Crocker 52-38 in the boys’ third-place game and Plato clipped Licking 54-49 in the girls’ championship game.
Plato 54, Licking 49: Second-seeded Plato outscored top-seeded Licking 16-9 in the second period and 17-10 in the third period to build a lead it would keep.
Licking led 12-9 after the first quarter and Plato went into halftime up 25-21. The Plato Lady Eagles led 42-31 entering the fourth period.
Junior forward Kaylea Kimrey erupted for 33 points to pace Plato while junior forward Lexi McNiel added 12.
Junior guard Megan Smith had 23 points to lead Licking, now 8-1 and ranked No. 7 in the Missouri Class 3 state poll.
Plato (54): McNiel 12, Kimrey 33, Fletcher 2, Roy 7.
Licking (49): Hebblethwaite 4, Littrell 2, Cook 2, M. Smith 23, Osborne 10, Storm 4, Bisker 4.
Newburg 52, Crocker 38: A big second half allowed the Newburg Wolves to win the boys’ third-place title. Newburg, now 7-2, led 12-8 after the first period. The Crocker Lions outscored the Wolves 11-6 in the second period to take a 19-18 halftime edge.
However, Newburg outscored Crocker 14-7 in the third period and 20-12 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.
Sophomore guard Ryan Ward netted 28 points to power Newburg.
Junior guard Austin Bogle had 14 points and senior forward Justin Sloan 10 for Crocker.
Newburg (52): Bales 5, Black 6, Yelton 4, Ward 28, Robinson 9.
Crocker (38): Bogle 14, Sloan 10, Ishmael 5, Wall 3, Posten 6.
Plato 46, Richland 31: In the boys’ consolation finals, the Plato Eagles held a slim lead most of the way. Plato led 12-7 after the first period and took a 25-21 advantage into halftime. The Richland Bears trailed 33-29 heading into the fourth quarter.
Jalen Supancic, a 6-1 senior, had 13 points and 6-4 junior Wyatt Penley added 12 for Plato.
Taylor Andrews, a 5-11 senior, had 14 points to pace Richland.
Plato (46): Supancic 13, Adams 4, Sponsell 2, Koehler 2, Crabtree 4, Pittman 7, Penley 12.
Richland (31): Baranowski 3, T. Andrews 14, Sullivan 2, Horton 8, Gregory 4.
Crocker 59, Newburg 47: The Crocker Lady Lions fired out to a fast start and led throughout.
The Newburg Lady Wolves fell behind 16-6 after the first period and Crocker took a 34-17 halftime lead. Crocker went into the fourth quarter up 47-31.
Lindsay Medlen, a 5-9 sophomore guard, powered Crocker with 26 points while 5-7 sophomore guard Kelsi York and 5-9 sophomore Delayne Patton each had 13 points.
Freshman forward Allyssa Dondlinger had 14 points and junior forward Kelsey Austin added 13 for Newburg.
Crocker (59): Medlen 26, Connell 3, York 13, Wilson 4, Patton 13.
Newburg (47): Guffey 6, Richardson 2, Austin 13, Dondlinger 14, Shelby Friend 8, Sands 4.
