Cal Michael Hutchings
59, Swedeborg

Cal Michael Hutchings, son of Cal Hutchings, Jr. and Anny (Kromschröeder) Hutchings, was born September 5, 1954 in El Paso, Texas.  Cal grew up in the Swedeborg and Crocker, Missouri area and graduated from Crocker High School.
On May 23, 1975, Cal entered the United States Air Force and served with the 1849 Electronic Installation Squad.  Cal retired on September 30, 1997 after 22 years of faithful service.  He had attained the rank of Master Sergeant and earned several awards and commendations.  
After retiring from the military and moving back home to the Swedeborg area, Cal worked at the Richland Care Center for a time.  He loved visiting with the residents and had a great working relationship with everyone there.
In his spare time, Cal enjoyed being outdoors while fishing, hunting and working in his garden.  He was also a wonderful cook and loved to enjoy a good meal with his friends.
Cal passed away at 2:53 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014 in the St. Louis University Hospital of St. Louis, Missouri having attained the age of 59 years.
Cal leaves to cherish his memory, his two daughters: Larissa Ann Hutchings of Nashville, TN and Cassandra Lynn Hutchings of Granite City, IL; his mother: Anny Hutchings of Swedeborg, MO; two sisters: Barb Wall of Crocker, MO and Katherine Hutchings of Swedeborg, MO; one niece: Zoe Wilson of Crocker, MO; other relatives and friends.
Cal was preceded in death by his father: Cal Hutchings, Jr.; maternal and paternal grandparents; and one nephew: Landon Wilson.
Graveside services with military honors were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the Oaklawn Cemetery.  Military honors were provided by the United States Air Force and the Missouri Honors Team.  Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
