The Tigers got shutout in Jefferson City as the lineup was able to produce just one hit

JEFFERSON CITY — After having a very productive offense in the back half of the Ash Grove tournament last week, the Waynesville Tigers baseball team was shutout 4-0 Wednesday in Jefferson City.

Derek Wood was the only one to get a hit in the Tigers lineup, and he had it in the first inning.

“We put the ball in play,” Waynesville coach Scott Turner said. “But we just could not find the holes in the very good Jeff City defense.”

Waynesville only struck out three times.

Phillip Holmes toed the rubber for the Tigers in the first 4 1-3 innings. He allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits, two walks and he struck out two.

Ryan Pendleton came in for the final 1 2-3 innings and gave up one run (it wasn't earned) on one hit.
