SALEM — In back-to-back golf meets now, the Dixon Bulldogs golf team has finished in the top spot.
On Thursday Dixon took first place in the Salem Invitational, as the Bulldogs collectively shot a 366 at Spring Creek Golf Club.
Coming in second was Houston with a 383.
Dixon had three medalists in the top ten.
Again, Josh Parker led the team with a score of 84 and placed third. Jeff Norman took fourth, shooting an 87. Stormy Donaldson tied for seventh with a 94.
Dixon coach Mike Phillips was excited to see his team win another meet and said having the sun shining while they did it helped keep spirits high.
“It was the best weather we have had this year and that made it fun,” Phillips said.
He went on to say his group is finally beginning to use correct form and that's keeping their scores lower.
“They're starting to get the muscle memory down which makes them more consistent,” Phillips said. “Hopefully we can continue to improve and be ready when districts get here.”
Other team scores included Cuba 389, St. James 406, Salem 422, Cabool 423, Viburnum 481 and Newburg 496.
