Waynesville is doing nothing if not improving
FORT LEONARD WOOD — Besting their previous home total by 12 strokes, the Waynesville Tiger golf team posted a 202 in their duel match against Rolla on Thursday.
The Bulldogs still beat the Tigers by shooting the lower score, 170, but coach Rube Dowell is still seeing the glass as half full because nothing is better than watching your team “get it” and improve at their craft.
“In prior matches we had only two players who could shoot below 60,” Dowell said. “Now, I am starting to see all vive capable of shooting under 60. That helps the team's overall score.”
Wade Howser had the lowest score for Waynesville, carding a 43. Medalist Jake Drewniak of Rolla came in at a five-over par, 41.
Jacob Morriss shot a 45 for the Tigers, Fred Boone a 56, James Richardson 58 and Dylan Reynolds 62.
Waynesville will be hosting their Invitational next Saturday, April 21.
