  • LAQUEY — It didn't take too long for the baseball game between Crocker (7-8) and Laquey (0-7) on Tuesday to get out of hand.
After the second inning the Lions led the Hornets 8-0 and it just got worse for Laquey from there as Crocker run-ruled the Hornets 16-2 in five innings.
Sophomore Logan Wilson was swinging the big bat for the Lions as he went 4-4 at the plate with his first career home run, a single, two doubles and 5 RBI.
If that wasn't enough, he was also the one on the mound for Crocker. He pitched all five innings, giving up three hits and allowing two runs while striking out five.
While the Lions were making plenty of their own luck, the Hornets were shooting themselves in the foot along the way too.
Laquey had five errors that lead to seven runs.
“Laquey's five errors certainly helped our cause, but we did our job and put the ball in play, hard, made them make plays,” Crocker coach Chris Long said.
Mike Norris had the only multi-hit night for the Hornets, with two singles. He also had one of the two runs for Laquey.
Crocker's next game will be at Macks Creek on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
Laquey will host Vienna at home on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
