  • ROLLA — The Waynesville Warriors 15-and-under “A” team lost two game in Rolla on Wednesday, the first 9-8 and the second 10-1.
In the first game the Warriors seemed to be on the fast track to a victory, leading 4-2 after the third inning.
It became a back-and-forth game after that, with Rolla scoring two in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game, Waynesville breaking through for a run in the top of the fifth and Rolla taking the lead back 6-5 in the sixth.
The Warriors rallied in the seventh, scoring three runs to take an 8-6 lead and appeared to have a handle on the game, but Rolla scored three runs of their own (one earned) in the bottom of the frame to win 9-8.
The second game wasn't as thrilling, but it was interesting to say the least.
Rolla scored all 10 of their runs without any hits nor any errors. Only walks.
Waynesville opened up the game with a hit by leadoff man Ethan Brown, who eventually made his way around the bases to score.
His hit was the last of the game.
Rolla scored five runs in the bottom of the first on six walks and a hit batter.
The Warriors gave up another five runs in the bottom of the fifth, again all on walks.
In total Waynesville pitchers passed out 12 walks and hit three batters to earn 10 runs while striking out four.
The 15-and-under “A” team will have another game on Monday in Dixon, the first game starting at 5 p.m.
