Eight teachers were members of the first class of the Waynesville R-VI School District’s Aspiring Administrators Program.
Teachers who were interested in becoming principals and superintendents applied for the program and once accepted, spent several days during the 2013-14 academic school year learning what it is like to be a principal.
Among their many activities, participants job shadowed principals, studied a book on school leadership, worked evening activities and served as substitute principals. The program is designed to help Waynesville identify and grow future district leaders. Participants Amy Cogdill, Jessica Steward, Heather Allen, Holly Davidson, Robyn Justice, Sara Calderon and Tammy Headrick are pictured with Darrel Vaughan, assistant superintendent of personnel services.
