  • Rep. Steve Lynch (R-Waynesville) was recently appointed to a newly-formed committee that will study the impact of the military on Missouri, as well as ways to sustain and support Missouri’s current military bases.
Lynch, who represents most of Fort Leonard Wood, was named to the Interim Committee on Missouri Military Impact and Sustainability by House Speaker Tim Jones.
In making the selection, Jones noted Lynch’s “tireless commitment to protect the state’s largest military base from proposed reductions and realignments.”
“Steve Lynch has been a vocal supporter for our military and helped lead the charge to convince the federal government to reconsider its plans to dramatically reduce the number of military personnel at Fort Leonard Wood,” said Jones, R-Eureka.
The committee will be chaired by state Rep. Charlie Davis (R-Webb City), who also chairs the House Veterans Committee. The committee plans to announce its hearing schedule in the weeks to come.
