  • Fort Leonard Wood — A Marine Corps Detachment change-of-command ceremony is slated at 9 a.m., Friday on Gammon Field.
    Marine Col. John Giltz is slated to relinquish command to Col. Daniel Longwell.
    Giltz leaves Fort Leonard Wood as the Marine Corps Det. commander for the Installations and Logistics Department in Arlington, Va.
    With more than 20 years of service, Longwell comes to Fort Leonard Wood from Fort Leavenworth, Kan., where he was the commanding officer of the Marine Corps Detachment, U.S. Army Disciplinary Barracks and director of the Marine Corps Element, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
