  • POINT LOOKOUT - Several area players competed in the 20th annual Gerald A. Pilz & Friends All-Star Basketball Games, held Saturday on the campus of College of the Ozarks.
    In the Pilz girls' and boys' all-star games there are three girls' teams and three boys' teams - the red squad, white squad and blue squad. Each team played a 20-minute half against each of the other two. The team with the best record wins. In case of a tie, the champion is the team with the most net-points.
    The white team captured the boys’ team title, beating the red team 43-34 and the blue squad 42-35. Members of the white team included Rolla’s Damaris Facen and St. James’ Addison Conway. The white team’s Javyn Johnston, who will be attending College of the Ozarks, was the boys’ Most Valuable Player, scoring 21 points.
    The red squad won the girls’ all-star title, beating the white squad 23-18 and topping the blue squad 28-13. Former Dixon all-stater Mattie Whitaker and Camdenton’s Abby Moulder were area players on the red squad. Heather Harman, who will play at Drury University, scored 18 points for the red team to earn MVP honors.
