  • A Linn Creek man was sentenced to 99 years in prison on a child molestation charge on Wednesday.
The sentence stems from an incident in October 2010 and is now being wrapped up nearly four years later.
At about 3 a.m. on Oct. 3, 2010, the Camden County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to a residence in Linn Creek regarding an alleged child molestation. A female had made the call and said the male suspect had left the area in a red Ford Mustang.
When officers arrived they met a woman who said that her husband, John Scott Cramer, had touched their 4-year-old niece inappropriately.
The woman told deputies that she had gotten up to use the restroom and had observed a shadow leaving the victim's room. She went into the victim's room a few minutes later and found the 4-year-old in her bed with her arms crossed over her chest. The aunt asked the niece if she was alright and if her uncle had been in the room.
The victim replied, "Uncle Scott touched me." She was able to identify the details of the accident to her aunt.
Soon after, Cramer admitted to his wife that he had been in the niece's room and that he had touched her.
Officers took photos and other evidence from the scene.
At approximately 3:16 a.m., Camdenton Police officers conducted a vehicle check on a red Ford Mustang at First National Bank on Highway 54 in Camdenton. The driver was later identified as John Scott Cramer. When an officer asked him what was going on, he replied that he was on his way to the Camden County Sheriff's office to turn himself in for child molestation.
Cramer was previously convicted of Child Molestation in the First Degree in Saline County from an accident that occurred in February 1998.
Cramer will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of probation or parole.
