The night sky at Fort Leonard Wood will light up with a blaze of glory Friday, July 4, to celebrate Independence Day.
Join friends, family and service members from all military branches to celebrate our country’s birthday as we gather to enjoy this exciting red-white-and-blue extravaganza.
The celebration kicks off at 3 p.m. on Gammon Field, where the entire family will enjoy games, activities, concessions, Battle of the Bands, and meet and greets with special guests, such as Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty, Statue of Liberty, Rocky Balboa and many more.
The excitement will heat up at 6 p.m. with a performance by Fort Leonard Wood’s 399th Army Band, followed by the Freedom Team Salute and Salute to the Nation at 7 p.m. The U.S. Army Soldier Show will perform at 7:30, and for the grand finale, the area’s largest firework display will light up the sky.
Performances and fireworks are free and open to the public. An unlimited-fun armband will be available for the children’s games and activities. Games will conclude at 9 p.m., with armband purchases available until 7 p.m.
No pets and no coolers will be allowed. Call (573) 596-6913 for more information.
