There are some interesting things to do this weekend including a great breakfast, painting with your kiddos, or taking a free self-defense class.

1. Home from the holidays breakfast

Pershing Community Center is hosting a home from the holidays breakfast Saturday, Jan. 8, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Settle back in from the Holidays and leave the cooking to us! Join us for a Belgian waffle breakfast, complete with fresh strawberries and whipped topping or traditional butter and syrup, bacon, and coffee or juice. This event is open to the public, all ages.  2. Me and my mini me painting fun

The Faye May Creative Arts Studio is hosting a painting session for parents and kids on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A painting experience made to be shared. Bring your mini me and join us for a fun relaxing time making memories. All ages. This months painting session cute cuddly penguins. Faye May Creative Arts Studio is located at 26062 MO 17 Suite D, Waynesville. The cost is $45 for two.

 3. Free women's self defense seminar

Kenpo Karate of Camdenton is hosting a free women's self-defense seminar Saturday, Jan. 8 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The seminar will cover things such as awareness, basic quick moves to defend ones self, choke holds, things to look for, and much more. For more information call 573-836-6460.
