Pulaski County Library District has had some fun visitors recently.
Summer Reading Program is finally here! We are so excited to have kicked off our 2017 Summer Reading Program, “Build a Better World”. To get us started right, we invited singing duo Wild Heart to our three libraries for a special performance. Wild Heart talked, sang, and danced with us about spiders, bats, and reptiles (oh my!). We learned not only how to build a better world, but how to Build a Better Wild World. It was so much fun, and over 250 children in Waynesville, Richland, and Crocker were able to participate.
Summer Reading Programs are held at libraries across the country every summer as a fun way to curb the “summer slide”, or losing skills children learn during the school year over summer break. There’s still time to sign up and participate at any Pulaski County Library! Ages birth through 18 can participate and receive incentive prizes for reading books. All finishers of the program are invited to a Pizza Party Finale in July.
Next Wednesday, June 14th, the libraries are excited to welcome Oh My Gosh Josh! Josh will be at the Waynesville Library at 8:30 a.m., Richland Library at 10:30 a.m., and the Crocker Library at 1:00 p.m. Children of all ages are sure to enjoy Josh’s humor, imagination, magic, and silly stories.
