Since April, the Friends groups of our Pulaski County Libraries have been hard at work, establishing their groups and setting goals for themselves. Since they have been working so hard, I think an update to our community is in order.

Crocker Friends of the Library: The Crocker Friends of the Library have met monthly since April. Their next meeting is Tuesday, August 1st at 5:00 p.m. Meetings usually last about 45 minutes and are open to anyone who would like to attend.

The Crocker Friends’ first project is a Yard Sale, scheduled for August 4-5 at the Crocker Library. Anyone who would like to donate items to the yard sale are encouraged to drop off at the Crocker Library during regular business hours.

Crocker Friends of the Library will also have a table at the Crocker Back to School Fair on August 10th. They will have fun giveaways and lots of library information.

Railroad Days is coming up September 2 at the Crocker Park. The Friends will have a table at Railroad Days selling books, reading Story Times, and providing information about the Crocker Library.

Again, anyone can join the Crocker Friends of the Library, and everyone is invited to the upcoming Yard Sale!

Richland Friends of the Library: Richland Friends of the Library is off to a great start as well. The Richland Friends meet the 4th Tuesday of each month at 5:30 in the Richland Library Community Room. The next Richland Friends meeting will be August 22nd at 5:30, please join us!

Richland Friends of the Library will be hosting the Fall Book Sale in the Library’s Community Room. The Book Sale will be in September and the Friends look forward to organizing a great event!

Watch this space, or follow the Richland Friends of the Library on Facebook, for future information about the Friends Fall Book Sale.

Waynesville Friends of the Library: The Waynesville Friends of the Library have also met at least once a month since April. The group is blessed with several strong leaders and volunteers and are in the process of setting and refining goals for themselves.

The Waynesville Friends of the Library meet the third Monday of each month at noon in the Waynesville Library. The next meeting is Monday, August 21st at noon. At this meeting, the Friends will help out with the Library’s Solar Eclipse Party, which is very exciting! For more information about the Solar Eclipse party, visit the Waynesville Library Facebook page.

Waynesville Friends of the Library is also sponsoring a brand new book club. The new Friends book club will hold its first meeting on Saturday, August 12th at 3:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Library Community Room. This will be a club planning meeting, so you don’t have to have read a book to attend. Please join us!
