Saturday, Aug. 12, Crocker Community Park is hosting a movie in the park featuring the 2016 version of "Beauty and the Beast." The show starts at 9 p.m. in Crocker Community Park. This version of "Beauty and the Beast" is the Disney live action version starring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast. 2. Community hog roast at Shady Dell Park

Saturday, Aug. 12, the Richland Parks Department is hosting a community hog roast. There will be corn hole, washers, and horse shoes for some summer fun for the whole family. Outlaw Lane RC Truck Pulling will be joining them during their event under the Pole Barn. They will be serving pork dinner plates for $10, which include a generous portion of fresh pork, beans, and potato salad. They will also have a hotdog dinner plate for the kids available for purchase. This event will be a fun day in the park for all to enjoy right before school kicks off in August. The evening will end with a Free Movie in the Park, featuring Big Hero 6, that will be held inside the Community Building. The Richland Parks Department hopes you will come out and support this event as all proceeds will go towards the park improvement projects, like the playground equipment and splash pad.
