The Phelps County Sheriff’s department is looking for an inmate after he ran away.
Michael J. Schultz, an inmate from the Phelps County Jail was working on a supervised crew within the Sheriff’s Department according to a Facebook post issued by the department. While working outside the jail, Schultz ran out of the building.
The Phelps County Sheriff’s department reports Schultz was incarcerated due to a nonviolent offense.
Video footage of the area shows Schultz getting into a white single cab, long-bed Chevrolet pick-up, with a small black roll bar in the bed of the pick-up, according to the department. Schultz left the area after entering the truck.
According to the Phelps County Sheriff’s department, Schultz is a 32-year-old white male, 6’02” tall, and 200 pounds with a shaved head. He was last seen wearing orange pants, a white t-shirt and brown work boots.
The Sheriff’s Department reports Schultz has ties to the Union, Franklin County Missouri area.
