The Golden Eagles have traveled from Kansas City, Kansas to Ypsilanti, Michigan in the last few weeks.
John Eley Jr. and Madelyn Newsom began the first leg of competition in Kansas City, Kansas at USATF Hershey National Junior Olympics Track and Field Championship.
Eley Jr. placed 25th in the 15-16 Men’s 400m with a personal record time of 50.96. Newsom in a prelude to the AAU Junior Olympics Track and Field Championship placed 45th in the 15-16 Women’s 1500m with time of 5:31.15.
Brielle Garcia and Micah Eley returned to Walton Stadium in Columbia, Missouri for the 2017 Missouri Show Me State Games. They last competed in 2015 with top eight finishes.
Garcia took first in the 11-12 Girls shot Put with a toss of 30 feet 3 inches. Micah Eley ran a 6th place finish in the 11-12 year old Boys 200 meter dash with a time of 30.27 seconds.
Tamia Hooks, Madelyn Newsom, Nadia Herring and Luke Morrison completed the final summer competition at 2017 Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics Field Championship in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Hooks placed 74th in 11 year old girls 100m Prelims with a time 14.57. Newsom place 62nd in the 15-16 Women’s 800m with a time of 2:38.18.
Hooks placed 79th in the 11 year old Girls 200m with a PR of 30.41seconds. Newsom ran her best time of the season with a time of 5:26.63 in 15-16 Women’s 1500m, placing her 31st. Herring place 44th in the 15-16 year old Women’s Long Jump with a leap of 15 feet 3 1/2 inches. Morrison ran the 17-18 year old Men’s 1500m with a PR of 4:41.  
Morrison closed out the season for the Golden Eagles with a 25th place finish with a time of 10:27 in the 17-18 year old Men’s 3000m.
