David Kiblinger, 39, of Rolla was sentenced to life plus 29 years based on convictions in a jury trial stemming from multiple charges related to sexual crimes with a child.
According to a press release from Phelps County Prosecuting Attorney Brendon Fox's office, Kiblinger pleaded guilty to rape in the first degree, statutory rape in the second degree, statutory sodomy in the second degree, sexual exploitation of a minor, and possession of child pornography.
Fox reported that Judge William Hickle sentenced Kiblinger to life plus 29 years after he argued that "Kiblinger had committed the various crimes against his victim over several years and that the victim continues to suffer the effects."
“I am pleased with the sentences. The evidence in this case was overwhelming and absolutely horrific. What the victim went through at the hands of David Kiblinger is truly awful and I hope knowing he will be locked up for a very long time will give her peace of mind and the ability to move forward with her life. I also hope this case lets other victims know they needn’t suffer in silence. There is help out there,” Fox said in his press release.
The probable cause statement in this case states that a narcotics search at a Rolla residence on July 27, 2016 led to the seizure of a laptop computer as evidence. Upon obtaining a further warrant, evidence of child pornography was discovered on the laptop. The forensic examiner of the laptop discovered multiple explicit still images depicting the victim.
Kiblinger was present in many of the photographs, according to the probable cause statement, and was identified by a woman whom he was in a relationship with at the time. The woman was also present in some of the photographs.
According to the list in the probable cause statement, the photos discovered on the laptop ranged from 2012 to 2016.
