One of the area’s biggest fall festivals is happening this weekend. The 33rd annual Cow Days will be September 15th and 16th in Downtown Dixon.

Events for the day begin at 11a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. Both days are fully scheduled with events.

Beverly and Larry Sharp have been named Cow Days Parade Grand Marshals.  The Parade is Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The car show will immediately follow the parade.

Beverly Sharp has been a teacher in the Dixon school system for 31 years as a Social Studies teacher  and her husband, Larry coached children in summer league basketball for almost 25 years. Their children also attended school in Dixon and they have been long time residents there. Beverly is currently the pastor at Kenner Church of God in Dixon and she volunteers her time often.

Opening Ceremonies will be held, Friday at 5:00 pm. Miss Alana Robinson will be singing the National Anthem.

Both days will be packed with entertainment from local artists. Locals singers and bands set to perform include ChristiAnna, The Band Special 20, Helen Russell & Co., The Baker Band, Collin Nash and many more.

ChristiAnna’s band plays a mixture of country, southern rock and blues.  Special 20 likes to call their music “Hillbilly Rock”. The Baker Band is a Dixon favorite according to the chamber of commerce website. Collin Nash will be bringing the Country.

There will be food booths, vendors, arts and crafts, a silent auction, games, car show, dance teams will be performing and there will be a karaoke contest through the weekend.

Kid’s Zone will include: bounce houses, trackless train, Putt Putt golf, rock climbing wall and more. There will be a youth pageant on Friday and an infant through 5th grade pageant on Saturday.
