The Missouri State Highway (MSHP) reported five accidents in the past three weeks. Troop I also reported no boating or other water accidents during this time frame.

August 25 - HWY 17, 1 mile North of Lexington Road

Christopher J. Duncan, age 42 of Crocker, was driving Northbound on Highway 17 when his vehicle, a 2003 Ford Mustang, crossed the center line. Duncan’s vehicle struck a 2007 Chevrolet HHR, driven by Stacey A. Self, age 33 of St. Robert. Duncan then ran off the right side of the roadway, overturned and struck a tree. Self’s vehicle travelled off the left side of the roadway before going airborn and striking a tree.

Both vehicles were totaled by the accident. Duncan received serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Self received minor injuries and was transported to Pulaski County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.


August 30  - HWY 17, 1/2 mile South of Waynesville

Margaret Cedars, age 36 of Laquey, was traveling Southbound on Highway 17 in a 2005 Ford F150; the vehicle struck a pedestrian with a side mirror as the pedestrian cross the road in front of the vehicle. The pedestrian, Dawson Makela, age 19 of Springfield, received minor injuries and was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center.


August 30 - Windsor Lane 2 miles West of Duke

Billy W. Curtis, age 73 of Duke, was traveling Southbound on Windsor Lane when his vehicle, a 2015 Honda ATV went off the left side of the road and overturned. Curtis was ejected from the vehicle and received serious injuries. Curtis was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

September 2 - HWY 28, Eight miles north of St. Robert

Jim. C. Cambre, age 46 of Pearl River, LA, was traveling Westbound on a 2008 Yamaha V-Star Motorcycle when he lost control and ran off the right side of the roadway. Cambre struck a road sign and overturned. Cambre’s vehicle was totaled by the incident and he received moderate injuries. He was transported to Fort Leonard Wood Hospital.


September 12 - HWY U, 2 miles West of Crocker

Chloe M. Moss, age 16 of Richland, was traveling Northbound on Highway U when she traveled off the right side of the roadway. As she began traveling across in the other direction, she crossed the center line, then travelled of the right side of the roadway again, striking an embankment and overturning. She received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon.
