The streets of Dixon were bursting at the seams on Saturday September 16th for Cow Days, Dixon’s annual fall festival.
Saturday morning began with the Cow Days Fall Festival Pageant and then afterwards the crowd listened to Helen Russell & Company before the parade started.
The turnout for the festival was truly incredible. The downtown area was lined with countless vendors for both food and crafts and the kids area was booming with energy.
One really fun kids attraction to watch was one in which the children could give a go at surfing. They all looked like they were having a blast. There was also bounce houses, rock walls and much more. Down vendor alley, children were also able to get their faces painted with whimsical and fun artwork.
Many locals commented that the parade was one of the longer ones the festival had ever had. There were bands, clubs, schools, businesses, politicians, fire, and police. The floats followed the Surf N’ Turf theme and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Little kids lined the streets waiting for their chance to run out and get some of the candy that was being thrown.
After the parade, was the car show and then on the main stage there was dancing.
The crowds everywhere were just packed. The community really came out in force for this event.
After the dancing there was a karaoke contest and Nick Cox won first place.
The evening was filled with entertainment from local bands and dancing.
