The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported four accidents in the past week. 

September 18 - Hwy 28, 3 miles South of Dixon

Chelsea A. Saxton, age 26 of Dixon, was traveling Northbound on Highway 28, when her vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan, travelled off the right side of the roadway and impacted a tree. Saxon received moderate injuries and was transported to University of Missouri in Columbia by Mercy Lifeline Air Ambulance. Her vehicle was totaled by the incident. 

September 19 - Hwy 28, 5 miles North of St. Robert. 

A crash occurred as a 1997 Ford Escort, driven by Catrina Collins, age 21 of Jerome, was traveling Southbound on Highway 28. Collins’ vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, and then traveled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle became airborne and impacted several trees. The vehicle came to rest on it’s passenger side. Brantley Collins, age 1, was in the vehicle and received serious injuries, he was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Katrina Collins received fatal injuries. 

September 19 - Hwy 28, 4 miles North of St. Robert. 

Jeffrey D. Wood, age 57 of Waynesville, was traveling Westbound on Highway 28 when he encountered a second vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet Truck, which was stopped in traffic. Wood’s vehicle, a 2006 Ford Ranger, travelled off the roadway, then returned to the roadway, crossing the center line and striking the truck. Wood received minor injuries and was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center. 

September 19 - Hwy 28, North of Hwy PP

Ben L. Seidel, age 61 of Cibolo, Texas, was traveling Southbound on Highway 28 when his vehicle, a 2016 Freightliner, traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Seidel received moderate injuries and was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center. His vehicle received extensive damage.
