This weekend Pulaski County residents can enjoy a free meal and support charity, have some family fun with old cars, or walk to support life.
1. Freedom Protectors Life Charity event
Come to the ribbon cutting for Freedom Protectors Life on Friday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Robert Community Center and enjoy a complimentary lunch. Donate to enter for chances to win fantastic prizes. All proceeds will be donated to local charities hosted by Freedom Protectors Life. All oportunities are open to both local and e-participants. Need not be present to win. Charities Include: Saint Robert Fire Department, Armed Services YMCA Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville Snack in a Pack, Ozark Chapter Military Police Regimental Association, Association of the United States Army Fort Leonard Wood Warriors in Need, Fort Leonard Wood USO, and Pulaski County Shop with a Cop.
2. Gearhead Bash
Saturday, October 14, the Richland Parks Department will be hosting the annual Gearhead Bash. This year there will be entertainment for the whole community. From bounce houses to yummy food and everything in between. Join them for a fun day of checking out some amazing cars, trucks, classics, hot rods, rat rods, and motorcycles. The schedule of events includes the Pickin' the Park Swap Meet at the Community Building from Noon-5 pm, the GearHead Bash in the parking lot by the baseball field from 3-9 pm, food, DJ, and Games will start at 3 pm, and a free Movie in the Park at dark.
3. 8th Annual Walk & 5K Run for Life
Saturday, October 14, the Free Women's Center is hosting its 8th Annual Walk and 5K Run for Life beginning at 8 a.m. in Waynesville Park. A registration canopy will be set up next to the Center with an activity area for the children attending, which will include a large bounce house, clown station, free balloons, and face painting. They will provide free donuts & coffee in the morning. Registration is $20 and includes a Discover Hope t-shirt, plus, snacks and drinks following the Walk & Run for Life. Registration will start at 8:00 am. The 5K Run will begin promptly at 9:00 am. Walkers will start five minutes after the runners.Trophies will be awarded for the top three finishers in eight categories: Male (18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49 & 50+) and Female (18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49 & 50+).
