This weekend was so full of things to do in the area that we had a hard time just choosing three. This close to Halloween there is a lot going on in Pulaski County! This weekend you can fight zombies, run from them, or join a costume parade.
1. Fort Leonard Wood Zombie Attack
The annual Zombie Attack will take place from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the main Exchange. Open to area children ages 12 and younger, the live-action game allows participants to navigate a maze and use Nerf guns to battle volunteers dressed as zombies. During the Zombie Attack, candy will be passed out to participants, and fire and police vehicles will be on display. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Directorate of Emergency Services and the Army and Air Force Exchange Services. For more information, call 573.596.0588.
2. Zombie 5K run and trunk or treat
Columbia College Zombie Run /Walk & Kids Fun Run starts in Waynesville Park on Saturday, Oct.28. The object is to finish with your life (FLAGS) intact; don't let the zombies steal your flags. T-shirts for the first 150 that sign up. You can pre-register in person at Columbia College at 4904 Constitution Ave. Suite 27 Fort Leonard Wood or Columbia College in Waynesville next to Price cutters. Cost is $20 for adults and children 12 and under $10. Day of registration is available, but the cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children Day of registration will be at the Waynesville Park Pavilion #1. (NO Credit Cards for this event Cash or Check only) Dogs are permitted on leashes, but be aware that "zombies" will be chasing you. Strollers are welcome too, but some parts of the course may be rugged. Sign up early if you want to ensure yourself a T-Shirt. Only 150 T-shirts will be available. ALL PROCEDES will go to:Janet's Wish and Little Hero's Playground. Columbia College Presents TRUNK OR TREAT in the Waynesville Park from 3:00p.m.-6:00p.m. Public is invited.
3. Costume Parade
Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Crocker Public Library join in the costume parade and party. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. and there will be free food, fun games for the kids, prizes for the most original costume, the cutest costume, and the people's choice of best costume.
