The name of the man who was killed in a stabbing incident, in the 20000 block of Brewer Road near Crocker, has been released.

Myers "Chuckie" Rogers, 36, was found deceased from knife wounds by Pulaski County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) deputies when they responded to the call.

The incident happened Friday night, around 9 p.m., according to a press release from PCSD. The original press release stated that a "econd male subject who was at the scene admitted he had stabbed the man during an altercation on the front porch of the residence."

The first of two press releases about the incident reported that there were witnesses to the incident that "left the scene prior to the arrival of the deputies." Saturday, PCSD said that not all of the witnesses had been located or questioned.

In a second press release Saturday evening, PCSD reported that a female witness who had been driving a white vehicle had been located and interviewed. At that time, PCSD was still looking for William "Billy" Curtman, of Crocker, as a potential witness. Curtman is not a suspect, according to the second press release.

PCSD also noted in the second press release that some confusion had developed about the pursuit of a stolen vehicle that "was initiated by the St. Robert Police Department" around the same time as the stabbing incident.

"These two incidents are not related to each other," the press release said.

The Daily Guide has obtained the probable cause statement in the stolen vehicle chase and arrest. That story is also available in this edition of the newspaper.

PCSD confirms that a probable cause statement was sent up to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office requesting charges, but charges have not been filed at this time and the incident is still under investigation.

The Daily Guide will continue to follow this story as it develops.
