Boy Scout Derreck Michael Sander of  Troop 147 has earned the rank of Eagle Scout 10/26/2017. Derreck had his Eagle Court of Honor 12/16/2017 at the Crocker Christian church in Crocker where his Scouting career was highlighted. Guest speakers attended, Crocker Mayor Glen Smith, Post 195 Legion Commander Chester Hagen, and Ed Conley from Waynesville.

Derreck worked his way to Eagle Scout along the trail From Tiger cub through cub scouting and then earning 10 special BSA awards, 39 Merit Badges, 37 camping nights, 96.5 service hours as a boy scout.

Derreck mapped out section three of the Crocker Cemetery for his Eagle service project. With the help of other Scouts and leaders they walked section three of the cemetery and wrote all the info from the headstones, they also referred to the plot map provided by the Crocker cemetery Board President Donald York. Derreck then put all info into a word document and printed it out to put in a binder for the community to use. Derreck is the second boy scout of  troop 147 to do a Eagle service project of the Crocker cemetery.
