The January cold is here and it's tempting to stay home and indoors, but there are still things to do in the region that are worth braving the cold.

1. Bluegrass at the Barn

Presented & hosted by The Baker Band Music In The Barn Dixon, Mo. Bluegrass Night at The Barn on Saturday, January 13, 2018 will feature Jimmie Allison and the Ozark Rounders. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. with the show, featuring traditional Bluegrass music, starting at 7:00 p.m. Jimmie Allison and the Ozark Rounders have performed at Old Iron Works Days in St. James, the Star Theater in Willow Springs, as well as Bluegrass Festivals and other venues throughout the state. 2. Missouri State Future City Competition

Stop by the Butler Cartlon Building on Saturday from 9 a.m. to see what future cities may look like. The Future City Competition will be going on and students from all over will be competing with their concepts for the future. Future City is a project-based learning program where students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future.

 

3. Princess Breakfast

Take your little princess for breakfast with her favorite princesses on Saturday, January 13 and every second Saturday of every month at Cookin' From Scratch in Doolittle. The cost is whatever your breakfast costs and your little girl will have a chance to hang out with the princesses from Girl Adored. Breakfast is served until 10:59 a.m.
