The Dixon Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs both played several games over the weekend.

Dixon Lady Bulldogs @ Crocker Lady Lions - Thursday

The Dixon Bulldogs Traveled to Crocker and faced a tough Crocker Lions team at Crocker High School.

The Crocker Lady Lions came out in the first quarter and out score the Lady Bulldogs 11-7. The Lady Bulldogs came out just a little stronger in the second quarter and out scored Crocker 11-10. Crocker went into halftime with a 21-18 lead.

Both teams came out scoring strong in the third quarter and the Dixon Lady Bulldogs  out scored Crocker 21-16 in the period. Dixon took a 39-37 lead after three periods in the game. The Crocker Lady Lions were able to hold on and score nineteen points in the final quarter. Crocker won the close game 56-52.

The Dixon Bulldogs were led by Brook Sinclair with twenty three points in the tough loss. Tressa Hughes scored eleven and Amy Wade added ten points of her own. Lauren Gilbert scored four points in the game. Both Bethany Koch and Izzy Thiltgen scored a couple of baskets.

The Crocker Lady Lions were led by Morgan Wall with twenty points in the big conference win. Macey Connell scored thirteen points in the game. Mariah Dean added eight points for the Lady Lions. Abigail Posten scored seven points and Kaitlyn Gambill scored six points. Lindsey Parrish added a basket of her own.   

Dixon Lady Bulldogs @ Laquey Lady Hornets - Monday

    The Lady Bulldogs were on the road again Monday as they traveled to Laquey High School and took on the Lady Hornets. The made an impressive conference win.

    Dixon came out strong and outscored the Lady Hornets 17-10 in the first quarter. The Lady Bulldogs had a strong second quarter and outscored Laquey 15-4 in the second quarter. Dixon went into halftime with a 32-14 point lead.

    The Lady Bulldogs came out strong again in the third quarter and outscored Laquey 12-4 in the period. Dixon led 44-18 after three quarters of play. The Lady Bulldogs outscore Laquey 10-4 in the final period. Dixon came away with a strong 54-22 conference win.

    Head Dixon Lady Bulldogs Coach James Thompson said this after the Laquey game, “We have grown as a Team. We are a lot more disciplined offensively. Our shot selection is much improved from day one.”

    The Lady Bulldogs were led by Lauren Gilbert and Brooke Sinclair with seventeen points each in the game. Amy Wade score ten points in the game. Both Khloe Irvin and Taylor McKinnon added four points each in the game. Izzy Thiltgen scored two free throws in the win.

    The Laquey Lady Hornets were in scoring by Briar Sayer with seven points in the game. Hailey Miller scored five points in the game. Both Alexia Cressel and Kylee Elmore scored four points for the Lady Hornets. Acacia Rice added two points in the game for the Lady Hornets.

    The Dixon Lady Bulldogs next game is in the Osage Tournament next week. The Laquey Lady Hornets next game is against the Bourbon Lady Warhawks on Monday at Laquey High School.

Dixon Bulldogs @ Plato Eagles - Tuesday

    The Bulldogs were on the road again Friday and traveled to Texas County to play again the Frisco League foe Plato Eagles. The Bulldogs suffered a close loss in a high scoring game.

    The Plato Eagles took an early 31-24 lead after the first quarter. The Dixon Shooter were able to outscore the Eagles 25-21 in the second period. Plato led 52-49 at halftime of the high scoring game.

    Both teams came out strong in the third quarter and the Dixon Bulldogs out scored plato 19-18 in the period. The Plato Eagles led 70-68 after three period. The Plato Eagles were able to make free throws and outscore Dixon 26-21 in the final period. The Plato Eagles hung on to the win with a 96-89 win in the exciting game.

    The Dixon Bulldogs were led by Trey Holzer with twenty six points in the game. Walker Shelton was just behind him with twenty five points. Sabastian Salais scored ten points while Clayton Sinden added eight points. Isiah Willis scored nine points in the tough loss. Tyrone Harris scored six points and quest winkle added three of his own. Seth Parker added a basket of his own.

    The Bulldogs will play at Stoutland High School and take on the Tigers tonight. The Plato Eagles take on the Newburg Wolves tonight in Newburg.
