Valentine's Day is just around the corner and if you're looking for a unique romantic getaway, the River of Life Farm might just have the answer for you. Towering in the trees are unique treehouse cabins that offer a very different kind of romantic getaway.

The cabins are open year-round, so visitors aren't limited to visits just at Valentine's Day, but Valentine's Day will feature a chef from Missouri S&T's catering department in Rolla this year, Chris Davis, who is planning a very special menu. Chris is planning to make a move permanently to the resort and run the restaurant, so the Valentine's Day menu will be his debut.

Valentine's Day guests can expect to see options such as hand cut filet mignons with stuffed lobster tail in fume sauce or stuffed chicken, dutchess potatoes, balsamic green beans, rolls, baby spinach salad, lemon poppyseed vinagrette, topped with wild berries and almonds. Dessert will be cheesecake stuffed chocolate covered strawberries and there are a vegan and gluten free options available on request. Reservations for the Falls Restaurant aren't required, but are recommended for Valentine's Day weekend, according to chef Chris.

River of Life Farm is 350 acres of private land situated in "the heart of the Wild Trout Management Area of the North Fork of the White River," according to their website

"Our treehouse accommodations offer several spectacular vacation lodgings, some on the river edge and others within view of the North Fork River. One of our finest treehouse cabins, the River Lighthouse, sits on the river and boasts 1,200 square feet of luxury," the website boasts of the cabins.

During your stay, there are relaxing things to do such as getting a massage with the licensed Massage therapist, Linda Stoffel. The massage service is right inside or on the deck of the cabins and ranges in cost from $70-$125. Reservations can be made when reservations are booked for a cabin.

If you would like to take in sights nearby, rather than staying in, there are plenty of things to pique your interest. A three quarter mile hike will take you to Inspiration Point on a well-marked trail and a "gentle enough incline for almost anyone to make the trip." As a matter of fact, there is plenty of hiking and scenery to enjoy all around the cabins.

If fly fishing is your thing, then the North Fork River offers rainbow trout fishing, as well as some beautiful scenery. The outdoor enthusiast or hiking afficianado will enjoy the Mark Twain National Forest nearby and it's well marked trails, both short and long.

There is also Caney Mountain about 37 miles away where more hiking and walking are available for the nature enthusiast.

If you're more interested in indoor activities like shopping and antiquing, nearby West Plains' might just have what you're looking for. West Plains has small antique and specialty shops that just might offer up a treasure or two.
