The Championship Day of the Iberia Tournament was a day of great basketball. All three games that day sold out in the Iberia Gym. The Richland Bears, Dixon Bulldogs, and Iberia Rangers all brought back hardware to the Frisco League.

Richland Bears vs Tuscumbia Lions - Consolation Game

The Richland Bears and the Tuscumbia Lions faced each other for the fifth place game of the Iberia Tournament.

The Bears had a strong shooting first quarter as they were able to outscore the Lions 17-9 in the period. Both Teams were much closer in the second period as the Lions and Bears played close. The Tuscuimbia Lions edged out the Bears 13-11 in the second quarter. The Bears went into halftime with a 28-22 point lead.

    The Lions came out strong again the in the third quarter and were able to inch their way back into the game. They outscored the Bears 15-10 in the third period. The Richland Bears were able to hit their free throws in the final period and outscored the Lions 20-16. The Richland Bears captured the Consolation Title with the 58-53 win over a very tough Tucscumbia Lions Teams.

    The Bears were led in scoring by senior Jordan Baldwin with his 15 points in the win. Junior Parker Ellis was able to add 13 points in the win. Sophomore Ethan Fagre added 10 points in the great game.

    The Tuscubia Lions were led by Senior Sam Huth with 17 points in the close loss. Both Juniors Matthew Hill and Payton Hall scored 11 points for the Lions in the game. 

Crocker Lions vs Dixon Bulldogs - 3rd Place Game

    The Crocker Lions and the Dixon Bulldogs put on an impressive show in front of the sold out crowd in the third place game. This is the second time both teams have played this season as the Crocker Lions defeated Dixon in the Frisco League Tournament semi-final game back in November.

    The Dixon shooters edged out the Crocker Lions in the first quarter 19-17 in an impressive shooting effort by both teams. Both teams shot light out in the second period as the Bulldogs were once again able to edge the Lions 25-23 in the second quarter. The DIxon Bulldogs led going in the first half 44-40 in the tough game.

        The Bulldogs and the Lions again impressed the sold out gym as the Bulldogs were able to win the period 24-22. Dixon took a 68-62 lead after three periods. The Bulldogs were able to hold off Crocker in the final quarter 23-20. Dixon came away with a great 91-82 and captured the Third Place Trophy.

    The Dixon Bulldogs had several players in double digits and were led in scoring by Senior Walker Shelton with thirty one points.  Sophomore Trey Holzer was not far behind him and scored twenty one points of his own. Junior Sebastian Salias added seventeen points of his own. Junior Tyrone Harris added ten points in the big win.

    The Crocker Lions had an incredible game and was led in the game by Senior Ethyn Boorom with his impressive thirty four points in the tough game. Senior Adam Shockley scored fifteen points and Seniors Logan Wright added twelve points in the great game.

    The Crocker Lions Ethyn Boorom scored his 1000th point in the second period when he scored off of a rebound shot. He will be awarded a Basketball at the Military Appreciation tonight in Crocker between halftime of the JV game. 

Iberia Rangers vs Vienna Eagles - Championship

    The Iberia Rangers and the Vienna Eagles had an incredible championship game. To conclude the Iberia Tournament. The Rangers were able to pull off their sixth tournament championship in a row.

    The Rangers came out and were able to edge the Eagles 23-19 in the first period of the game. Iberia once again was able to get an edge on the Vienna Eagles as they outscored them 17-13 in an incredible second quarters. The Rangers went into halftime with a 40-32 point lead in the championship.

    Both Vienna and Iberia came out of the half with offence in mind. The Eagles and Rangers tied with eighteen points in the third quarter. Iberia still led the game 59-51. The final period was all Iberia as they overcame the Vienna defense and made all but two of their free throws. The ended the final period 12-5. The Rangers captured their sixth Iberia Tournament Championship with the 71-56 win.

    The Iberia Rangers were led in the game by Senior Carter Halley with his twenty four points in the win. Junior Jesse Routh added fifteen points and Sophomore Zach Voss also scored elven points in the big win.

    The Vienna Eagles were led by Senior Isaac Weeder with twenty two points in the tough loss. Senior Kyle Helton also added thirteen points for the Eagles in the tough loss.
