The Lebanon Lady Yellowjackets traveled to Waynesville last weekend and faced the state ranked Lady Tigers. Waynesville was able come away with three wins during the night from the freshman game to the Varsity.
The night began with the future Lady Tigers getting a big win.
The game started out with the Waynesville Lady Tigers taking and 11-6 lead after the first period of play. The Lady Tigers were once again able to outscore the Lady Yellowjackets 9-6 in a great defensive second period. The Waynesville girls led 20-12 after the first half of play.
The Waynesville defence held on strong in the third period as they outscored Lebanon 7-3. Waynesville led 27-15 after three periods of play. The Lady Tigers did the final sweep in the game as they out scored Lebanon 7-6. The Waynesville Lady Tigers 34-21 in the big win as they prepare to play at a higher level.
The Lady Tigers junior varsity team had a great game that included a great comeback win.
The Lebanon Lady Yellowjackets took a 6-2 lead in the first quarter of play. The Waynesville Lady Tigers were able to edge out Lebanon in the second period 11-10. Lebanon still led going into the break with a 16-13 lead.
The Lady Tigers out scored Lebanon 7-4 in the third quarter. Both Waynesville and Lebanon were tied in the game at 20-20. Waynesville was able to stop the Lady Yellowjackets 11-1 in the final period of play. The Lady Tigers pulled off a 31-21 win in the game.
The Lady Tigers and the Lady Yellowjackets both played a hard game and was able to pull off a big Ozark Conference win. This kept the Lady Tigers at the top of the conference standings tied with the Kickapoo Chiefs out of Springfield.
The Lady Tigers came out in the first period and out scored Lebanon 11-8. The second quarter was an outstanding performance for Waynesville as they again out scored the Lady Yellowjackets 23-7 in the second period. Waynesville had a commanding lead in the game at halftime 34-15.
The Lady Tigers and the Lady Yellowjackets both came back strong out of halftime and Waynesville was able to squeak by 14-13 in the period. The Lady Tigers led 48-28 after three periods of play. Waynesville continued to dominate in the final period as they outscored Lebanon 15-10. The Waynesville Lady Tigers won the game 63-38 and stayed on Place with the chiefs from Kickapoo High School for first place.
Head Waynesville Lady Tigers coach Brittany Matlock said this after the big win, “It was good three game sweep of Lebanon. Everyone worked hard and came out on top. I am proud of all teams and their hard work. Next up the freshman and JV are at Crocker and the Varsity is in the Washington Tournament vs Parkway West on Monday.”
The Lady Tigers were led in the game by Stone with twenty eight points in the game win. Shoulders and Perry both scored nine points for Waynesville. Handley scored six points in the game. Evans and coleman also scored in the conference win.
The Lebanon Lady Yellowjackets were led in scoring by Mack with fifteen points. Glendenning scored eight while Leake added seven points in the Loss. Both Bowman and Wright scored three points. Calhoun added a basket for Lebanon in the Loss.
Waynesville Defeated the Parkway West Lady Pathfinders out of St Louis County on Monday in the Washington Tournament. The Crocker Lady Lions defeated the junior varsity Lady Lions on Monday 64-29 at Crocker High School.
