A stabbing incident has sent two people to the hospital, one of which was taken into custody and will be charged, according to a press release from the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department (PCSD).
PCSD reported that deputies were called to a home in the 25000 block of Swindell Dr. in the Waynesville area for a "reported domestic altercation."
"Upon arrival at the scene deputies found a 44 year old male subject with severe knife wounds to the head area and a 44 year old female subject with a knife wound to her hand," the press release stated.
PCSD reported that the male was taken to a Springfield hospital and a PCSD detective was dispatched to the hospital with the hope of being able to interview him. However, it is noted in the press release that an interview will only be possible if the victim's medical condition will allow for the interview.
The female subject was taken into custody at the scene and taken to Lebanon hospital. PCSD reported that they plan to seek charges against her once she's released from the hospital and will be booking her into the Pulaski County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour charging hold.
PCSD said that a reserve PCSD detective was called in to oversee, finish the work on this case, and file a probable cause statement with Pulaski County Prosecutor Kevin Hillman. PCSD anticipates filing charges of Domestic Assault in the First Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges may be filed against the female in the case.
The names of the individuals have not been released pending charges. The Daily Guide will continue to follow this story as it develops and will bring that information as soon as it's available.
