The Waynesville Wrestling team traveled to Blue Springs South High School for a tournament on over the Weekend. Waynesville captured a strong tournament win in the Kansas City area.
The tournament resulted in nearly every wrestler with winning or placing in their weight class.
The Champions during the night was Thomas Brady in the 106 weight class. Gaven Sax won the 132 weight and Sean Sax joined him in the 138 class. Michael Cassidy won the 145 class and Andrew Leitold was the winner in the 195 pound category.
The Tigers also had a couple of runner ups in their weight class. Etha Gatzmeyer was second place in the 220 weight class and Tim Brech place second in the heavyweight class.
Waynesville also had a couple wrestlers that place third in the tournament. Floyd Moore placed in the 182 point category and Devon Stearns made it in the 170 pound weight class.
Three Tigers earned fourth place medals over the weekend. Jordan Copple placed in the 113 weight class. Aedan Brady placed in the 126 weight class. The 152 pound class was represented with four by Mario Garza.
Aaron Choi placed six in the tournament while Issac Peterson placed eighth int he 120 pound weight class.
The wrestling team will be back in action tonight for the final duals matchup of the season against Springfield Central and Helias out of Jefferson City. Tonight is Senior Night and we will recognizing Sean Sax for 150 Career wins as a Tiger. The matches will begin at 4:30 PM.
