The Crocker Lady Lions traveled to Stoutland last Thursday and played the Stoutland Lady Tigers in a Frisco League game. The Lady Lions were able to come away with a win and stay competitive in conference.

The Lady Lady Tigers came out and took an early lead in the game. They finished the first period with a 14-11 lead. Becca Looney led the Lady Tigers with five points and Lindsey Parrish also score five points for the Lady Lions.

The Lady Tigers once again were able to pounce on Crocker in the second period as they were able to edge by them 15-12. The Lady Tigers were led by Bree Sein with five points in the period and the Crocker Lady Lions Megan Becker scored six points in the second quarter.

The Lady Tigers went into halftime with a 29-23 lead. The Lady Tigers’ Looney lead all the scorers in the game with nine points during the break. Crocker’s Lindsey Parrish lead the Lady Lions with seven points including a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Both Morgan Connell and Becker of Crocker also scored six points in the first half.

Both teams fought hard in the third period as Lady Tigers once again were able to sneak by the Lady Lions as they led the period 11-10. The Stoutland girls shot an impressive 7-10 free throws in the quarter. Morgan Wall of Crocker was the leader for them in the third quarter as she scored five points in the third. The Lady Tigers led 40-33 after three quarters.

The Crocker defense ramped it up in the fourth quarter as they were able to win the period by an impressive margin. The Lady Lions outscored Stoutland 17-3 in the quarter and took the first big lead of the night. The Lady Tigers were led in the effort to defend their lead by Looney as she score all three of their points in free throws. Connell and Wall were the two plays that secured the comeback for the Lady Lions as Connell went a perfect 8-8 on free throws in the final period and Wall scored eight points by hitting two three pointers and and basket. Mariah Dean also made a key free throw late in the game. The Lady Lions defeated the Lady Tigers 50-43 in a great final period.

The Crocker Lady Lions were led in the game by Morgan Wall with 17 points. Macey Connell added 15 points in the comeback win. Lindsey Parrish scored nine. Megan Becker added six points for Crocker. Kaitlyn Gambill scored two points and Mariah Dean added a free throw.

The Stoutland Lady Tigers were led by Becca Looney with 16 points in the game. Bree Sein scored 10 points while Melanie Hobbs and Skylar Sheppard both added eight of their own. Sarah Pribble scored a free throw.

The Crocker Lady Lions improved their record to 7-9 and the Played the Laquey Lady Hornets in the opening round of the Newburg Tournament on Tuesday. The Stoutland Lady Tigers Hosted Climax Springs on Tuesday and Travel to Licking for a conference game on Thursday.
