The Dixon Bulldogs hosted the Laquey Hornets on their senior night. The DIxon Bulldogs improved their season record to 10-14 on the season. The Laquey Hornets fell to 6-16 after the game.

The Varsity game began with the seniors being honored for their years of basketball service along with the DIxon Dazzlers.

The Boys had four seniors this season. They are Braden Mahurin, Walker Shelton, Isaiah Willis, and Quest Winkle. The Dazzlers were Brittany Akers, Audrey Echert, Felicity Houston, Skylar Maddox, Kaitlyn Ray, and Kyzee York.

All of the seniors plan to attend college next year.

The varsity boys had their hands full with the Laquey Hornets trying to pull of an upset. The Hornets began by edging out Dixon 13-12 in the first period. The Hornets were led in the first quarter by Tristan Gan with six points. Dixon was led by Trey Holzer who also score six points. Laquey was able to do the same thing in the second quarter and win the period again 13-12. Willie Lunsford led the Hornets in scoring in the period with four points. The Bulldogs were led by Sabastian Salias, Seth Parker, and Holzer who all had three points each. The Laquey Hornets led 26-24 going into the first half of the game.

The Laquey Hornets were led by Gan in the first half with nine points in the game. Dixon was led by Holzer who scored 12 points in the first half.

The Dixon Bulldogs kept things slow in the third quarter and outscored the Hornets 13-9. The Bulldogs were led by Holzer who scored five points in the third period. Nate Acosta led Laquey in the period with four points. Dixon took the first lead in the game as they led 37-35 after three periods of play. The Bulldogs were able to pick things up and hit the shots they needed to hang on in the final period. Dixon out scored the Laquey boys 17-12 in the final period of the game.

Walker Shelton and Holzer were the two key factors in the Bulldogs fourth quarter. Holzer led the way by score three baskets in the close game and Walker Shelton added a basket but led the way by making 4-4 on free throws. Both Caden Powers and Acosta scored a basket and three pointer in the final period but was unable to close the final gap. The Dixon Bulldogs pulled off the 54-47 win in front of the senior night crowd.

The Dixon Bulldogs were led in the game by Junior Trey Holzer who scored 20 points. Senior Walker Shelton added eight points to help the Bulldogs in the win. Three Bulldogs all scored six points each in the win. They were Freshman Clayton Sinden, Junior Sabastian Salias, and Junior Seth Parker. Both Junior Tyrone Harris and Freshman Shannon Kampeter each score four points a piece.

The Laquey Hornets were led in the game by Senior Nate Acosta with 15 points and Senior Tristan Gan who scored 12 points. Junior Cayden Powers added nine points in the loss. Senior Willie Lunsford scored seven points while Senior Zach Norris added four points for the Hornets.

The Dixon Bulldogs next game is tonight at home against the Richland Bears. The Laquey Hornets travel to Newburg tonight.
