The Maranatha Warriors traveled to Joplin to defend their Missouri Christian School Athletic Association State Championship from last year.

Quarter Finals - Maranatha Baptist Academy (St Robert) Warriors vs Training Center High School (Garden City) Eagles

The Warriors and the Eagle had a hard fought first period as Training Center took a 24-23 lead after the first period. The Warriors were able to take control in the second quarter and out scored the Eagles 21-7. The Maranatha Eagles led the game at halftime 44-31.

The Maranatha Warriors and Training Center Eagles picked up the pace and gave the gym a good scoring period as the Warriors edged them out 15-14. Maranatha led 59-45 after three period in the game. The Warriors again led 21-17 in the final period of the game. The Maranatha Warriors defeated the Training Center Eagles 80-67 and advanced to the next round.

The Maranatha Warriors were led in scoring by Luke Carnahan with 33 points and Antonio Daughtrey with 27 points.

The Training Center Eagles were led in the game by Brett Surrell with 21 points and Kellen Bench with 19 points. 

Semi Finals - Maranatha Warriors vs Heartland Christian Academy (Bethel) Eagles

The Heartland Eagles faced off against the Marantha Warriors in the next round. The Eagles took an early lead and were able to move on to the championship.

The Eagles outscored the Warriors 18-5 in the first period of the game. Heartland once again outscored the Warriors 22-13 in the second quarter. Heartland led the game 40-18 at the and of the first half of the semi-final game.

The Warriors began to pick their pace up out of the locker room and outpaced the Eagles 16-14 in the third quarter. The Heartland Eagles still led 56-36 after three period of play. Heartland was able to edge out Maranatha in the final quarter 16-14. The Heartland Eagles won the game 72-50 and move on to the State Championship while the Warrior play for third place in the tournament.

The Maranatha Warriors were led in scoring by Luke Carnahan with 22 points in the loss. Gabe Rush scored 11 points in the game in the loss.

The Heartland Eagles were led in the game by Martino Dukuly with 24 points and Peter Nickerson who added 15 points in the win. 

3rd Place - Maranatha Warriors vs El Dorado Christian School Buffalos

The Maranatha Eagles began the game by out scoring the El Dorado Buffalos 25-10. The warriors continued to improve and outpaced the Buffalos 18-9 in the second period. The Maranatha Warriors led at halftime 43-19.

The Warriors came out of the locker room and out ran the El Dorado boys again 22-9 in the third quarter. The Maranatha boys extended their lead to 65-28 after three period in the game. The Buffalos were able to outscore the Warriors in the final period 22-6 but could not overcome the deficit.

The Maranatha Warriors placed in the State Tournament for the second year in a row with the 71-50 win. Antonio Daughtrey was selected as a Second Team All State Member this year. Luke Carnahan led the Warriors in scoring with 79 points in the three days.

The Maranatha Warriors were led in scoring by Luke Carnahan with 24 points in the third place win and Gabe Rush added 23 points in the win.

The Eldorado Christian Eagles were led in the game by Landon Wilson who scored 23 points in the loss and Seth McKinney scored 14 points in the championship loss.

The Maranatha Warriors and Lady Warriors Volleyball will be in a basketball and volleyball team will be in a tournament this weekend at Tabernacle Christian School in Lebanon.
