The Crocker Lions and Richland Lady Bears are preparing for the Class 2 state playoff games tonight. The Crocker Boys will play the Spokane Owls and the Richland girls will face the the Skyline Lady Tigers. The winner of the first round will play at Drury University on Saturday.

Crocker Lions vs Spokane Owls

The Crocker Lions are coming into the game with a 21-8 record on the year. The Lions are coming off and overtime win against the Newburg Wolves last Friday to earn a spot in the state tournament.

The Lions have wins over St. Elizabeth, Iberia, Dixon, Newburg, Norwood, and Plato. The Crocker boys placed second in the Frisco League behind the Licking Wildcats. Crocker won the consolation bracket of the Cabool Holiday Tournament and placed second in the Frisco League Tournament.

The Spokane Owls are 17-10 and are also coming off an overtime win in the district championship. They defeated the Skyline Tigers 86-81 for the title. The Owls have wins over Crane, Billings, Cassville, Reed Springs, and Ash Grove.

Spokane places second in the Marionville Tournament and third in the Spokane Tournament. 

Richland Lady Bears vs Skyline Lady Tigers

The Richland Lady Bears come into the game 18-6 on the year and face the number one team in the state in Class 2.

The Richland Lady Bears have wins over Belle, Stoutland, Steelville, Osage, and Newburg. Five of their losses were to Licking twice, Osage, Steelville, and Plato. Nearly half of heir wins were by over 20 points this season.

The Lady Bears are Osage Tournament Champions and finished second in Newburg Tournament and the Frisco League Tournament.

The Skyline Lady Tigers are coming into the game with a 27-2 record on the season and have only lost to undefeated Strafford and a good Clever girls team.

The Lady Tigers are the Warsaw, Pink & White, and Skyline Tournament Champions.

The girls and the boys will play at Boswell Auditorium.
