The Dixon Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs continued their season at the Linn Invitational. It was a cold rainy day but he Bulldogs were able to bring home some medals and the boys placed 9th out of the 15 schools there while the Lady Bulldogs tied for 14th place on the day.
The boys 4x800 Meter Team began the meet by placing 7th with a time of 10:05. The team consisted of Junior Braden Perry, Senior Dillon Williams, Junior Chase Beardaslee, and Senior Isiah Willis.
2017 State Qualifier Senior Trevor Graves placed 4th in a very tough 110 meter hurdle race. He ran a time of 17.71 on the wet track. Two Bulldogs represented the team in the 100 meter dash. Freshman Travin Weed placed 7th with a time of 12.09 and Senior Trevor Graves placed 22nd with a time of 13.44 in the race.
Two more Bulldogs ran in the 200 meter dash. Freshman Holden Perry placed 25th in the race with a time of 31.74 seconds while Weed placed 9th with a time of 24.93.
Two more Bulldogs represented the team in the 400 meter dash. 2017 State Qualifier Zach Shetler placed 4th in the meet with a time of 54.54. Freshman Colby Marr placed 16th in the meet with a time of 1:03.
B Perry ran the 800 meter run with a time of 2:24 in the very wet race. He placed 13th overall. Both Beardaslee and Williams improved their times in the 1600 meter run. Beardaslee ran 5:35 and placed 13th while Williams placed 16th with a time of 5:52. Beardaslee also ran the 3200 meter run and improved his time by running 12:13 and placing 10th in the meet.
The 4x100 meter relay team placed 6th with a time of 52.76. The team consisted of Senior Justin Keith, JP Zollman, Marr, and Weed. The 4x200 meter team captured a medal with their third place finish time of 1:43. The Bulldogs 4x400 team ran a strong time of 4:00 minutes. The team consisted of B Perry, Willis, Keith, and Shelter.
Freshman Tyson Reathaford placed 6th in the shot put with a throw of 33’ 11”. Senior Lane Williams placed 18th with a throw of 26’6”. Reathaford placed 8th in the discuss with a throw of 79’11” while Freshman Holden Perry placed 21th with a throw of 40’6”.
The Javelin was represented by Dixon High School record holder B Perry with a throw of 104’9”. That earned him a 7th place finish. Graves placed 18th with a throw of 81’7”.
The girls team was represented in several events during the meet.
Senior Asia Davenports ran a time of 17.66 in the 100 meter dash and placed 23rd. Freshman Alyssa Cash ran the 200 meter dash in a time of 32.47 which earned her a 15th place finish. Cash also ran the 400 meter dash in the race. She placed 14th with a time of 1:18 in the race.
The Distance events were ran by Senior and several time Frisco League Champion Maggy Lloyd. She placed 15th in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:45. Lloyd ran the 1600 meter run with a time of 7:56. She placed 17th in the race..
Freshman Gabby Heltz threw the shot put 20’7” to earn a 24th place finish. She also placed 22nd in the discuss with a throw of 47’4”.
The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs run in the St James open today and at Fatima High School tommorow.
