Ayden Anderhatter is the youngest member of American Legion Rider Chapter 331, St. Robert.
Ayden is 5 years old and he was born with hypoplastic, a congenital heart disease. Only half of his heart developed correctly. He’s had 3 open heart surgeries to reconstruct his heart and correct his blood flow. He had his lung removed a few years ago and he's had stomach surgery.
His mom said, “He was trached for three and a half years and has come a long way. He’s a Superhero.”
On Veterans Day 2017, the American Legion Riders, Chapter 331, made Ayden an honorary member. Ayden rode his 4 wheeler gas powered cycle in the Veterans Day Parade. He also rode with the American Legion Riders in the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
“Ayden's grandfather and father are both Veterans. He is the son of an American Legion,” his mom commented.
"Today he wanted to fit in with the Riders and bring his bike. He wanted to be with his people,” his mom continued. “It's been a long road for us and we still have some journeys ahead of us.”
"Superhero Ayden” enjoyed a few minutes of fun hunting for Easter eggs before getting back on his bike and back with “his people.”
