One could have had a hard time identifying the guest of honor at the most recent Committee of Fifty Luncheon. Governor Eric Greitens, Representative Steve Lynch, Representative Diane Franklin and more were present at the luncheon. Regardless of all the big names, the real honoree was in green. Fort Leonard Wood’s own Charles Post became a First Class Petty Officer. Greitens was the guest speaker.

Lynch congratulated Post on his accomplishment. Lynch hoped that Post enjoyed his time in Missouri. Greitens felt the same way. Greitens said, “Our goal, Petty Officer Post, is to bring you back from California when you retire. Our goal is to make Missouri the most military-friendly and veteran-friendly state in the nation.”

Post recognized how much hard work he put into earning that achievement. He said, “This award is really a team accomplishment.” He went on to talk about how much support he received from his chain of command and family which were all present for his award.

Post teaches Navy construction techniques. He is the sailor and instructor of the year at the detachment as well.
