A new retail outlet in Rolla, kicked off their grand opening activities with a partnership with the Missouri USO benefitting more than 100 children of service members from Fort Leonard Wood.
Academy Sports + Outdoors at the Westside Marketplace invited the Missouri USO and 147 children to a pre-opening celebration in Rolla on Sun., April 15, to tour the new store while shopping.
According to communications specialist for Academy Sports + Outdoors, Shane Carlisle, said the store partnered with the Missouri USO, donating $100 shopping sprees to the 147 deployed soldiers children.
The Missouri USO was very successful and included a high turnout at the event April 15, according to operations manager, Jackson Harken, adding that families of the military were also at the store that night to celebrate the occasion.
The store offers an array of products needed for fitness, outdoors and sporting activities, such as kayaks along with the center of the store dedicated to a vast amount of athletic apparel for men, women, and youths, including outdoor clothing and swimwear for the upcoming summer.
The grand opening for the store will be Sat., April 21, at 8:00 a.m.. The first 100 people will receive a gift certificated worth between $20 to $500. The Rolla store is Academy’s 10th location in Missouri.
