The Crocker High School hosted their first annual Lions Invitational track meet. The Crocker Lions and Iberia Lady Rangers were the meet champions.
Head Crocker Lions track and field coach Jim Wall said this after the meet, “Overall our 1st Annual Lions Invitational track meet was a success. The eight teams that participated were Crocker, Dixon, St. Elizabeth, Tuscumbia, Iberia, Richland, Stoutland and Waynesville Junior Varsity. The team champions were Iberia Lady Rangers in the Girls Division and Crocker Lions in the Boys Division.” He also said this, "This was a good opportunity for our athletes as a tune up for Districts this Saturday at Russellville. We would like to thank Waynesville for their hospitality and all the schools that participated. We are looking forward to hosting the meet again next year with a few more teams to compete."
The Crocker Lions won the boys division with 213 points. The Dixon Bulldogs were the runner up in the meet with the team score of 175.
The Dixon Bulldogs opened the meet by winning the 4x800 meter relay with the time of 9:39.72. The Crocker Lions were the runner up with the run of 10:08.88 in the race.
Trevor Graves from Dixon was the 110 meter hurdles champion with his season best run o16.63. Colby Marr from Dixon was the runner up with the time of 18.22 also. The Lions’ Clyde Hoxsworth won the 100 meter dash with the time of 11.71. Travin Weed from Dixon came in second with a near identical time of 11.72. Crocker Ethan Boorom placed third in the race with the time of 11.85.
The Lions won the 4x200 meter relay with the time of 1:35.63 while the Bulldogs came in second with the time of 1:42.94.
Dillion Williams from Dixon was the runner up in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:37.78 while Brandon Burton came in third with the run of 5:42 in the race.
The Lions were once again the 4x100 meter relay champions this season with their run of 45.72 while the Bulldogs were the runner up with the run of 49.22 on the night.
The Dixon Bulldogs captured the top two sports in the 400 meter dash. Zach Shelter won the race with a time of 53.02 while Justin Keith came in second with the time of 55.50 in the race. Dixon once again took the top two spots in the 300 meter hurdles. Graves won the race with a time of 44.44 while Marr ran a personal best of 46.25.
The Lions captured the top two spots in the 800 meter with Fabio Fell winning with a time of 2:13.97 and Dhenem Lancaster who ran 2:17.03 in the race. Both of the times are near their personal best. Williams from Dixon placed third with his run of 3:23.06. The Crocker Lions Ethan Gan won the 200 meter dash with the time of 23.66 while Weed from Dixon ran the race in 23.97.
The 3200 meter run had three local athlete compete. Izyach Gray from Crocker won the race with a 12:33 while Burton from Crocker place second with the time of 14:01. Williams placed third with the time of 14:15 on the night.
The Bulldogs won the 4x400 meter relay with the time of 3:47.19 while the Crocker Lions were the runner up with the run of 3:57.91.
Lane Williams of Dixon won the shot put with the throw of 34’-1 1/2”. The Crocker Lions came in second and third. Michael Arnold placed second with the throw of 34’-1” while Caleb McMurtrey placed third with the throw of 33’-10”.
Graves from Dixon was the runner up in the javelin with his throw of 136’-7” in the event.
Boorom of Crocker won the high jump with the jump of 6’-3”. Jared Hyatt from Waynesville placed second with his jump of 6’-0”, while Hoxsworth placed third with the jump of 5’-8” on the night.
Waynesville Tigers Lamone Tolivar won the long jump with his leap of 22’-0”. Adam Shockley of Crocker was the runner up with this jump of 21’-7 1/2”.
Shockley from Crocker won the triple jump with the distance of 42’-10”, while Cameron Bryant from Crocker also jumped 39’-3 3/4” in the event.
Porter from Dixon won the pole vault with the leap of 12’-0”. Damian Debery from Waynesville placed third with the height of 10’-0” on the day.
Head Dixon track and field coach Jim Brown said this after the meet. “It was an excellent meet for us to prepare for our district meet Saturday. We got excellent performances from our senior athlete and our younger kids came through very well. It makes me very excited about the possibilities for Saturday in Russellville.”
The Iberia Lady Rangers were the girls champions with 167 points, while the Crocker Lady Lions were the runner up with 113 points.
The Lady Lions won the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 13:08.65 in the race.
Emily Echman from Richland was the runner up in the 100 meter dash with the time of 13.82. Abigail Posten placed third with her run of 13.84.
The Lady Lions were the runner up in the 4x200 meter relay with the time of 1:59.75. Adrialise Jones from Richland placed second in the 1600 meter run with the time of 7:22, while Leanne Bailey placed third with the run of 7:46.
The Lady Lions won the 4x100 meter relay with the run of 55.48. Eckman was the runner up in the 400 meter dash with the time of 67.04. Madison Markley was the runner up with a time of 2:51.75 in the 800 meter run. Echman placed third in the 200 meter dash with her run of 28.87 in the race.
Sydney Hoxsworth won the 3200 meter run with the time of 13:48, while Montana Sasfy came in third pace with the time of 19:35 on the night.
The Lady Lions were the runner up in the 4x400 meter relay with the time of 5:24 during the race.
Lady Lions Victoria Sasfy placed third in the shot put with a throw of 27’-7”. Mariah Dean of Crocker was the runner up in the high jump with the leap of 4’-10”. Posten was the runner up in the triple jump with here jump of 31’-7 1/2”. Morgan Wall from Crocker was the runner up in the pole vault with the jump of 7’-6”, while Desiree Daos from Waynesville placed third with the jump of 6’-6”.
The Class 1 and 2 schools will have their District meets this weekend. The Crocker and Dixon teams both will travel to Russellville High School, while the Richland Bears and Lady Bears will travel to Rolla on Saturday.
